Yoomi

This bottle is great for breastfeeding mommies. I love how I need not have to have look for hot water to warm expressed breastmilk when I'm out with baby. Just press one button and wait 60seconds and the milk will be warmed and ready to be consumed by baby! No more frantically searching high and low for a nursing room for hot water and then wait another 3-5 min for the milk to warm up. That 3-5min can be a headache especially if baby is super hungry and nothing you do can stop his crying.

The award-winning self-warming baby bottle!

Yoomi, UK’s first self-warming baby bottle has been on the shelves since 2009. Yoomi provides an ideal solution to quickly warming baby’s milk to the perfect temperature whether it be in the car, on a plane, out for lunch.. or on holiday! This is a truly innovative feeding system which can be used quite literally anytime, anyplace, anywhere!

The best bits about yoomi...

* easi-latch™ teat: thanks to its natural breast-shaped and super-soft silicone teat which allows for a breast-from-breast experience

*transition sorted: thanks to the consistent breast-milk temperature feed provided by yoomi, babies have the familiarity they need to support weaning from breast to bottle

*reduced likelihood of colic: with its 6 anti-colic vents (most bottles have 4) yoomi allows for a more comfortable feeding experience for babies

*easy pouring and mixing: yoomi’s unique, wide-necked bottle makes pouring and mixing simple – as well as clean and tidy!

* convenience, always: being suitable for both expressed breast-milk and formula, and ideal for either combination or bottle feeding means yoomi supports all parents baby feeding needs

*safe: yoomi only warms milk as your baby drinks, giving bacteria less time to breed. And of course, the yoomi range is 100% BPA free meeting the highest safety standards

* all you need: the yoomi bottle can be used on its own or with a yoomi warmer and all yoomi bottles, teats and warmers are interchangeable across the range

Yoomi Warmer:

• Flexible – the yoomi bottle can be used on its own or with a yoomi warmer. Combined with a warmer, it warms feed to the natural temperature of breast milk in 60 seconds.

• Quick – when babies get hungry, there’s no time to waste. yoomi warms feed to the perfect temperature in 60 seconds, which is great for the baby… and mums & dads too

• Convenient – wherever they may be, yoomi enables parents to provide warm feed to their babies, at the correct temperature, without delay or additional equipment

• Safe – The warmer has been specially designed so that it cannot overheat the feed,

How to use Yoomi warmer?

Simply pop the warmer into the teat. Close the bottle. Don’t over tighten the collar or the anti-colic vents won’t work. Press the orange button and wait for a total of 60seconds. Your feed is now ready.

How to recharge the warmer?

There are 2 methods to recharge the warmer. Boiling method or Microwave method.

Users’ preferred method is boiling. You may boil multiple warmers and it sterilizes at the same time. You have to constant boil your warmers for 30mins.

For microwave method, it takes approx. 2.5mins, HOWEVER, if you do not follow the instructions correctly, you may permanently damage your warmer.

After which, please REMEMBER to allow your warmer to COOL down COMPLETELY to room temperature before using.

For me, i personally prefer to use the boiling method as i feel it's less troublesome.

Product range:

o yoomi bottle (with slow flow teat) – 5oz / 8oz (Single & Twin pack available)
o yoomi bottle, warmer & pod (with slow flow teat) – 5oz / 8oz
o yoomi warmer and pod

Happy Employee, Happy Employer

It's my first time hiring a helper and I don't know if I'm doing this whole thing right but I hope I am.

I once read a comment by an employer who wasn't too happy her maid switched on the water heater to bathe and in my head I asked "Oh? So such a simple thing as the water heater supposed to be a privilege?".

I watched how my mother treat the helpers in the past and I guess I learnt from her. My mother is always very nice to the maid and treats the maid like family. So when I hired one, I was going to treat her the same. The first time I brought her back, I tried my best to make her feel welcomed and provided her with everything she needed to feel comfortable.

I want my helper to be happy working for me because I believe if she's happy, she'll do a good job. I let her switch on the Air Con in the living room during hot afternoon, give her extra $ to buy whatever food she wants if I'm not home, eat the same food as I do when I'm around, use the same soap & shampoo as I do, drink the soft drinks in the fridge if she wants, watch TV with me at night when all the work has been done, chit chat and tell her about my day and ask her stuff to get to know her better, let her use her hand phone once work is done in the house, let her take 2-3hr afternoon nap if she needs...etc. If she does something wrong, I explain to her nicely and show her how I want it to be done in case she doesn't understand what I'm saying. Like myself, I hate to be scolded and screamed at so I won't do that to her no matter how frustrated I am. For me, since I don't like to scold I'd tell the maid what I cannot tolerate and what she should never do. Warn her that if I'm unhappy with her I'd send her back cus I won't tolerate unnecessary nonsense. In a way i'm "Strict" like that la, i wont want her to make the same mistake over and over again and think she can get away with it -just like that-. I can always find a new one so it is all up to her if she wants to work for me or not. I also ask to check on how happy she is working and if everything is ok for her. They are human and all maids are different. They have feelings too and sometimes some environment aren't suitable for them. If they aren't comfortable and happy working in your house, no point continuing also, shouldn't waste my time & hers. Just change to a new one whom I like and give her the chance to find a house she likes working in.

So far, it's been great having her around. She made a huge decision and sacrifice and came all the way to Singapore leaving her family of 3 kids at home to earn money. It isn't easy to be away from your kids for such a long time and she did it so she could give her children a better life. I do hope she finds happiness in my house and feel like she is part of us so she won't miss home so much. Hope she feels close to my family so she won't feel lonely and sad to be away from her family.

Being nice to her has paid off. Everyday I wake up to a chirpy "Good Morning Ma'am!" and a smile. What a great start to my day! Sometimes hear her playing and talking to Elroy when I'm busy doing stuff in my room. Something she doesn't actually have to do? The house is always Spick and Span when I get home. Every mess I make, especially in my wardrobe, she tidies it up without me telling her to do so. My bed is always nicely made up even if I am out for just awhile. My clothes and Elroy's are always washed on time and neatly folded. I do hope this goes on for a very long time because I am so pleased with her so far!

Am I spoiling her? I don't think so. I always believe you should treat people the way you want to be treated. I have learnt to always put myself in ppl'so shoes and if I were to be a maid, what kind of environment would I wish to work in? I feel that if I am so nice to her, she would be grateful and be a good helper because she would know if I sack her, she risks getting hired by someone who would mistreat her. My family and I are so nice too so it's unlikely she'll find a better family to work for. My BF's maid has been with his family for over 20 years too! Goes to show how easy going we all are.

Everyone deserves to be treated nicely whatever their "position" is. Moreover, when someone likes you and is happy and grateful, they'd be more than willing to do stuff for you. If she takes advantage of my niceness in future, I'll be so sad but hey, at least I know Ive been the best employer I can be and there's definitely someone out there who wishes they could be in her place.

I have nothing against how other people treat their maids but this is how I treat mine and seeing my maid happy makes me happy! If your maid sucks and you intend to hire a new one, start out fresh and treat her well, maybe things would be different?

But of course, not every maid is the same la? Luck plays a huge part too.

VivreActiveWear

Have recently been trying to get my exercises back on track after giving birth, and Vivre Active Wear’s apparels couldn’t have come to me at a better timing.

A new wardrobe of exercise apparels means more motivation for me to get to it and workout!

On me is the Flow-with-Breeze tank top ($38).

I swear that the material for the tops are to die for, and with an in-built bra you do not need to buy another set of sport bra. Besides wearing them to gym, these dri-fit tops are so pretty, fuss-free and cooling for dress-down days in this humid weather.

How pretty are the designs below? I definitely can’t wait to get more!

There are so much more designs on their website, and I’m gonna let you check it out yourself. All their designs are manufactured from scratch, giving emphasis on the cutting suitable for Asian ladies.

Besides apparels, they manufactures exercise mats and non-slip towels (suitable for yoga) which have received raving reviews from trainers and customers. You will never get this quality at this price if you were to buy them from brick and mortar stores.

I know getting workout attire can be really expensive in Singapore, and so am glad to have found Vivre Active Wear to share with you girls!

Time to keep those body in shape before festive seasons starts.

FAUX FAYC

FAUX FAYC BEST MASCARA EVERRRRR!

Being the cam-whore that I am, I admit that I’m a sucker for mascara that gives a good length with volume. I’m sure all of you will agree that beautiful eyes play a huge part to a good picture. For many years, I’ve tried a million mascaras and don’t even mind suffering for 2 hours for eyelash extensions, or gluing on falsies which totally ruins my eyelashes just to achieve that wide-eye look.

Recently, a few of my friends were raving about a new Mascara in town by Faux Fayc Cosmetics and boy was I glad I gave it a try….

It’s only been a week and I’m totally HOOKED and in LOVE with it!!!

This is the best mascara product I’ve ever used and is definitely No. 1 on my list. I can now say GOODBYE TO MY FALSIES!

The instant length extension and volume is by far the best I’ve ever achieve with a regular mascara:

I only put one coat of FAUXFAYC and it's enough already. They say u can do 3 coats but I don't like it too dramatic, this is the PERFECT length for me.

This new smudge-proof Fauxlash Natural Fibres Duo Set has two tubes; a transplanting gel and another natural fibres tube from green tea extracts (really safe!). It provides me with a drama-like effect with 300% increase in length and thickness while keeping my lashes looking real.

It’s really lightweight, smudge-free and water resistant which thus keeps my lashes curled and clump-free for the whole day.

It is really easy to apply and the best thing about it? It removes easily with lukewarm water! Don’t you all hate it when your eyeslashes fall off with hard to remove mascara?

I did a test by going to the gym with the mascara on and amazingly, it did not smudge or droop a single bit! By the end of the day, I can still have long, beautiful, curled and smudge-free lashes. Nuff said.

I believe that good things must be shared and if you want to achieve a wide eye effect without falsies or extensions, pop by www.fauxfayc.com to grab a set and enter promo code: TAMMYGOESFAUXFAYC for a $2 off!

Checkout their Instagram - @fauxfayc & hastag #fauxfayc and FB Page – facebook.com/fauxfayc for more stunning pictures of beautiful girls who have tried the product!

Once you go Faux Fayc, you will never go back.

Eyebrows

I've been doing my brows with this lady called Apple for YEARS! Despite having many ppl wanting to sponsor me, I chose to pay to do it with Apple. So this is not a sponsored advertorial, I don't have to share but I will because she's a really good eyebrow artist. Is that what you called it? Haha.

Have shared her contact on my social media platforms before and during my latest visit Apple told me a lot of yall did your brows with her too so for the first time in years she touched up my brows for me for free to thank me for sharing. And my turn to THANK U ALL! Hehe. :)

Still fresh and dark now so it doesn't look pretty. Can't wait till it fades! A lot of people email me from time to time asking about my brows so here is her name card :)

One side done

Not pain one la so don't worry! AND it looks very natural once it has faded (around 3 days?). She does it stroke by stroke, mimicking your real brow hair. It is called 4D Eyebrows
Here's me bare faced...but not looking so dull? See how much difference dark and nicely shaped brows make!

Post-Pregnancy Body (Week 8)

Here's my Post-Partum Week 8 update!

What?!?! ALREADY?!?! Almost 2 months since Elroy came into this world! HOW FAST! Starting to fill in my schedule with work stuff already. Soon it'll be Christmas...and New Year. Whoaaa. This year went by fast man.

Went to the gym for a 30 min work out that day and this is my post-pregnancy body at Week 7...

Post-Pregnancy Current Weight (Week 8): 57kg

Pre-Pregnancy Weight: 51kg
Weight Gained During Pregnancy: 20kg

I look normal already and a lot of people can't believe i just gave birth. :)

I have lost 13kg already all thanks to Breastfeeding. Even though i'm still 6 kg away from my pre-pregnancy weight, i am happy with my progress! I feel that i look healthy and i feel healthy!

So many people asked "HOW DID YOU LOSE THE BABY WEIGHT SO QUICKLY?"

1. Breastfeeding
BREASTFEEDING! Cannot be happier with the choice to breastfeed. It's good for my baby and helped me lose so much weight effortlessly.

2. Healthy Diet
Diet wise, less sweet stuff! I eat normally (4 meals a day) but avoid chocolates and ice cream. Because i'm breastfeeding, i'm hungry all the time! Dont starve, eat enough for your body as it is working hard producing milk for you baby. However, try to eat as healthy as possible to avoid unnecessary weight gain during this period. During my pregnancy, i was eating sweet stuff every day and weirdly, after i gave birth, i stopped craving for all that. Eating home cooked food must have helped too because it's much healthier than eating out. I also switched to eating brown rice because a lot of people say it's much healthier than white rice.

3. Massage
Doing a Post-Natal Massage (post here) helped. The binding of my belly really made my belly go down fast.

4. Treatment at Aesthetic Clinic
For my thighs, i thank O Medical Clinic for my Venus Freeze treatment (post here).

I must say, staying active during your pregnancy is very very important too! I was pretty active up to Week 32. I try to swim 2 times a week and brisk walk for 30 mins every other day. I was gaining weight quickly despite being active though.

Even though i gained 20kg - which is quiet a lot, i lost it quick. Silly me, to be so worried, i now understand that my body knows what to do to keep my baby healthy. If you are slightly underweight, you should gain more than the norm. It's ok if you gain more than other people, as long as your baby is healthy, that's the most important!

I have heard stories of people gaining only 7kg during their pregnancy. I was so jealous at first but i realised everyone's body works differently. Don't compare!

Looking good after having a baby isn't THAT tough, really. For me, because i'm a Blogger, looking presentable and good is important so i kinda force myself to dress up and doll up when i go out especially to meet clients etc. A lot of people are too lazy to dress up and put make up after giving birth and i TOTALLY UNDERSTAND. Looking after a baby is tiring. Breastfeeding makes you even more tired. Most days i am just too tired to do anything too, really. Which is why most mummies look so tired. My make up helps conceal all the blemishes and dark eye circles, without it, i'll look like a mess. So my secret to looking good? GOOD MAKE UP SKILLS AND A WARDROBE FULL OF PRETTY CLOTHES. :) I did a lot of shopping online during my pregnancy in my last few weeks so i had a lot of clothes i looked forward to wearing after giving birth. That kinda made me wanna dress up too. I knew i wasn't going to lose the weight THAT quickly so i bought size M/L clothes so i could fit in pretty clothes shortly after giving birth. Didnt want to buy stuff i wouldn't be able to fit into...that might actually make me feel sad about myself.

Dinner at the best Jap restaurant in Singapore (to me) - Shinji. The boy brought me there for Date Night and i am soooo happy to be able to finally try it after reading about it online and hearing him tell me how good the food is. Really pricey dinner (cost us $1.3k for 2) but truly a great experience. If you are willing to splurge on good food, it is a must try. http://www.shinjibykanesaka.com/

Finally being able to eat sashimi is AWWWWWESOME! I stayed away from it during my pregnancy because doctor said it's best not to consume raw food. You can but it's risky. I realized that eating fish makes my milk supply go UP. Not like i need that...haha. It made my oversupply worse? But but  if you don't have a lot of milk and want to increase supply, eating more fish should help. :)

Hope you enjoyed my Week 8 Post Pregnancy short update!
